White Bison is a Native American non profit organization dedicated to the healing, and recovery from drug or alcohol abuse. White Bison focuses on culturally based intervention, coupled with the Wellbriety Movement. Wellbriety means "to be sober and well." It is one of the most widely accepted treatments for escaping the addiction of drugs or alcohol.
The program involves a culturally-based intervention that assists Native Americans in recovering while also incorporating native traditions and maintaining their cultural identity. “Other studies have demonstrated that internalization and receptivity of information occur greater if the information is delivered in accordance with Native American values.
